(Politics) Russia To Host 2014 Winter Games Despite Concerns Over Anti-Gay Law
The Olympic Committee has determined that Russias anti-gay laws dont violate the Olympics charter in terms of discrimination and subsequently pronounced Russia ready to host the 2014 Winter Games.
Chairman of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Jean-Claude Killy stated, the IOC doesnt have the right to discuss the laws that are in place in the country hosting the games, so unless the charter is violated we are fully satisfied.
The current law outlaws propaganda on nontraditional sexual relations among minors.
