中國製造業活動在八月時達到16個月以來的新高，平息了認為該區經濟會緩下來的恐慌。

Chinas manufacturing activity hit a 16 month high in August, settling fears of an economic slowdown in the region.

Recently, China has taken steps to boost its economy after having a slow growth rate two quarters in a row. The slowdown was attributed to falling demand in exports to the U.S. and Europe, key drivers of its economic growth. As a result, the government suspended value-added tax and turnover tax for small businesses last month in an attempt to boost domestic consumption and employment. This decision is expected to affect six million small companies and bolster employment.

Beijing government officials also stated they will, implement measures to simplify customs clearance procedures, cut operational fees and facilitate the exports of small and medium-sized private enterprises.

China is currently the worlds second largest economy, and chief economist Haibin Zhu, at JP Morgan in Hong Kong, stated, We are seeing clearer signs of economic conditions improving. In fact, the PMI (Purchasing Managers Index) increased from 50.3 in July to 51 in August, indicating an expansion.
