"李安榮獲奧斯卡「最佳導演」獎！"

第85屆奧斯卡金像獎終於在25日上午舉行了頒獎典禮，李安執導的《少年PI的奇幻漂流》入圍了11項，獲得四項大獎；全球都相當關注這部電影的成績。這次少年PI一共拿到了「最佳攝影」、「最佳視覺效果」、「最佳原創配樂」以及最受矚目的「最佳導演獎」。

《少年PI的奇幻漂流》一片裡並沒有票房保證的大明星，但導演李安卻以他極細膩又有深度的拍攝手法，讓東方的哲學思考打破東西方的文化隔閡，觸動全球觀眾的心。當李安上台領獎時，他的得獎感言中也提到台灣。

他表示：「沒有台灣的協助，我拍不出這部片子；我們在台灣拍攝，我要感謝所有協助我們的人。」更令人感動的是，李安強調，會把這部片子帶到台灣，就是希望能為台灣電影環境帶來一些刺激，同時也給年輕學子多一些工作機會。

(Entertainment) Ang Lee Crowned Oscars Best Director!

The 85th Academy Awards ceremony finally took place on the 25th and much global attention was focused on Ang Lees Life of Pi, which picked up 11 nominations and ended up winning 4 awards. The movie grabbed awards for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Original Score and the highly-regarded Best Director Oscar.

Despite the fact that there are no A-list actors in the movie Life of Pi to guarantee box office success, Ang Lee managed to allow eastern philosophy and ideology to break the cultural boundaries between the west and the east, and touch the hearts of global audience using his intricate and profound technique. When Lee went on stage to receive his awards, he also mentioned Taiwan in his acceptance speech.

Lee said, I (could) not make this movie without the help of Taiwan. We shot there. I want to thank everybody there who helped us. What is even more moving is that Lee stressed the reason why he brought the movie to Taiwan was because he wanted to stimulate the local movie industry while creating more job opportunities for students.

Acclaimed director Ang Lee not only has profound love for Taiwan but also cares a lot about students. For this reason, we, too, cannot give up on ourselves and should master English to create more opportunities for ourselves. Lets encourage each other!
