"英國裸泳者未能打破世界紀錄"

超過200人聚集在海裡裸泳。

九月底，太陽還沒升起，英國東北的諾森伯蘭沙灘就已經聚集超過200人，他們脫光身上的衣服，一起衝進海裡。舉辦此驚人的活動是為了幫心理健康慈善機構「心智」募款，主辦者杰奎琳．希金森也希望能打破最大「裸泳」盛會的世界紀錄。

東北裸泳創新紀錄的嘗試失敗了，因為2011年南威爾斯的仲夏裸泳盛會有413人參加，但是希金森表示這次活動仍是十分成功。「今天，我們許多人赤裸著跑進海裡來替心智機構募款，並且讚揚自己和自己的身體……。我不認為今天的人數足夠﹝打破紀錄﹞，但是今天的人數是足以讓我們有個歡樂的時光。」

裸泳者募得多少錢並沒有報導出來，但是他們應當能募得許多錢。紀錄顯示活動舉行的早上，海水溫度是寒冷的攝氏12度，空氣更冷，只有五度。

In late September, over 200 people gathered before sunrise on a beach in Northumberland in northeastern England, stripped off their clothes, and ran into the sea. The stunt was organized to raise money for the mental health charity Mind, and the organizer, Jacqueline Higginson, was also hoping that they could break the world record for the biggest ever skinny dip.

The North East Skinny Dip failed in its attempt to set a new record, as 413 people took part in the 2011 Midsummer Skinny Dip in South Wales, but Higginson said the event was still a success. Today, loads of us ran naked into the sea to raise money for Mind and to celebrate ourselves and our bodiesK. I don't think there was enough to do it break the record today, but there was enough of us for it to be a lot of fun.

The amount of money the skinny dippers raised was not reported on, but they deserve to collect a lot. Records show that the sea would have been a chilly 12 degrees Celsius on the morning of the event, and the air was even colder, at only five degrees.
