"宏碁執行長暨董事長請辭"

世界上第四大個人電腦供應商宏碁，最近宣布他們的董事長暨執行長王振堂將請辭。王振堂於2004年坐上執行長的位置，2008年離開此職位，然後在2011年回鍋。

據王振堂表示：「宏碁過去幾年面臨了許多複雜且艱苦的困境。隨著接二連三的財務慘況，是時候讓我將責任交棒給一個新的領導團隊，以鋪路走向新紀元。」

宏碁面臨股價下跌和財務危機，現在正在重整一切。明年六月王振堂的任期結束之時，翁建仁將會取代王振堂的位子。宏碁公佈了七月到九月這一季的營運損失達25.7億新台幣，部分是肇因於eMachines品牌的訴訟，那造成了一次認列消費者賠償金。

聽聞宏碁計畫於明年裁掉全球7%的員工，以省下價值每年一億美金左右的營運開銷。董事會成員施振榮表示：「在調整架構後，我們將會在現有的個人電腦、平板和智慧型手機業務中推出更多有競爭力的產品，並穩定住我們的市占率。」

(Business) Acer CEO and Chairman Resigns

PC brand Acer, the worlds fourth-largest PC vendor, recently announced that their chairman and CEO, Wang Jeng-tang, will resign. Wang became CEO in 2004, left his position in 2008, and returned in 2011.

According to Wang, Acer has encountered many complicated and harsh challenges in the past few years. With the consecutive poor financial results, it is time for me to hand over the responsibility to a new leadership team to pave the way for a new era.

Acer has been facing share losses and financial troubles and is restructuring. Jim Wong will replace Wang in June of next year when Wangs tenure ends. Acer reported operating losses of NT$2.57 billion in the July to September quarter, partly due to the conclusion of litigation concerning their eMachines brand business, which resulted in a one-time consumer compensation charge.

Acer reportedly plans to cut seven percent of its global workforce next year in order to save operating expenses worth an approximate US$100 million annually. Board member Shih stated, After making structural adjustments, we will introduce more competitive products within the existing PC, tablet, and smartphone business and stabilize our market share.
