"需要新政策來提高生育率"

看來現行幫助提高台灣的生育率的效用已經有限，因而需要一項新政策。

自去年起，一個月2500新台幣的育兒津貼已經提供給育有兩歲以下孩童的失業家長。然而，此種方法沒能做到顯著改變，因「育兒在財務和情感方面都得付出許多」，根據托育政策催生聯盟召集人劉毓秀指出。

出生率維持低迷，多年來在比率1之間徘徊，已經呼籲政府想出新方案。托育政策催生聯盟已經敦促政府創建公共托兒和日間托兒系統，他們相信這不只能增加工作機會，還能刺激出生率並讓女性留在職場之中。

台灣的出生率在全世界中維持在最低的其中之一。雖然去年增長了一些，據信這是因為「龍年效應」。

(Life) New Policy Needed to Lift Birth Rate

It appears that the impact of current efforts to help raise Taiwans birth rate has been limited and that a new policy is needed.

Since last year, childcare subsidies of NT$2,500 a month have been offered to unemployed parents with a child of up to two years old. However, this approach has failed to make a noticeable difference for childbearing takes both financial and emotional commitment, according to Childcare Policy Alliance convener Liu Yu-hsiu.

With the birth rate remaining low, lingering at about one per 1,000 of the population for years, the government has been called upon to come up with a new approach. Childcare Policy Alliance has urged the government to establish public childcare and daycare systems, which they believe would not only create jobs, but also boost the birth rate and keep women in the workforce.

Taiwans birth rate has remained one of the lowest in the world. Although an increase was seen last year, it is believed to be attributed to the Year of the Dragon effect.
