"屏風表演班無限期停止演出"

創立屏風表演班的李國修，不幸於今年七月二日因大腸癌病逝。由於李國修對台灣舞台與劇場文化發展影響深遠，屏風表演班等於是他的生命。當他辭世後，屏風表演班的運作，頓時也陷入了困境。

王月，李國修這輩子最愛的女人，在失去丈夫後，曾試著繼續支持李國修的夢想，讓屏風能將李國修的戲繼續傳承下去。但由於李國修一向是屏風表演班最大的台柱，李國修走了，觀眾一時間也很難接受沒有李國修的戲。在票房驟減的情況下，不得已於前先日子宣布了這個決定。

李大師的幽默、風趣，對人生百態的描述以及人與人之間的情感，在他的表演與劇本裡有著細膩與深沉的刻劃。他的眼神、表情與肢體動作，創造出個人獨有的舞台魅力。只是現在已沒有人可以演活他的角色，因為這些戲，就是他的人生，任誰，也無法取代。

也許，屏風是時候該推出DVD的時候了，這樣才能讓李大師的創作，就像《那一夜，我們說相聲》一樣，流傳千古。

(Culture) Ping-Fong Acting Troupe to Suspend Performances Indefinitely

Hugh Lee, founder of the Ping-Fong Acting Troupe, died of colon cancer this year on July 2nd. Lees far-reaching impact on the development of Taiwans theatrical culture has allowed him to be at the heart of the Ping-Fong Acting Troupe. With Lee passing away, the troupe is suddenly faced with difficulties in sustaining operations.

Moon Wang, the love of Lees life, has tried to continue supporting her husbands dream since his death so that his plays can be passed down through the performances of Ping-Fong. Nonetheless, Lee was always the troupes headliner. Now that he is gone, audiences are finding it difficult to adjust to plays without him.With ticket sales dropping significantly, Wang has therefore announced the regrettable decision to suspend the troupes performances.

Lees sense of humor, wit and portrayal of different aspects of life and peoples feelings toward one another are all intricately and deeply embedded in his performances and scripts. The look in his eyes, as well as his facial expressions and body movements all contribute to his unique charisma on stage. At present, there is no-one out there who can make Lees characters come alive the way he did, for these plays are his life, and his roles are irreplaceable.

Perhaps it is time for Ping-Fong to release DVDs of Lees plays so that his legacy can be passed on from generation to generation like the play, The Night We Performed Comic Dialogue.
