"糧食浪費"

你知道嗎？台灣每天浪費的食物高達四萬桶，相當於70座台北101的高度。每年浪費的食物竟高達2400億元，足夠供所有小學生免費吃39年的營養午餐。

食物的浪費除了餐桌上吃不完的食物外，還包含賣相不好被丟棄的蔬果、過度捕撈的海鮮、過度生產過期未食用的加工食品、過了賞味期的熟食等等，這些都是導致食物浪費的元兇。

目前全世界70億人口中，還有10億人活在饑餓邊緣，每天都有兩萬名兒童死於饑荒當中。糧食資源分配不均的問題只會越來越嚴重。下次吃飯時，除了想想你我有多幸福外，拜託不要再隨意浪費食物了。

Did you know that every day Taiwanese people waste up to 40 thousand bins of food, equivalent to the height of 70 Taipei 101s if piled up together?What is more, the amount of food being thrown away every year is worth a whopping NT$240 billion, enough to provide free lunch to all the elementary school students in Taiwan for 39 years.

More importantly, food is not just being wasted at the table. Vegetables that become unwanted due to their ugly appearance, leftover seafood from excessive fishing, processed foods that have not yet been consumed but have become expired already due to overproduction, as well as ready made meals that have passed their expiration dates all contribute to food waste.

Among the 7 billion people in the world, 1 billion are living on the verge of starvation, with 20 thousand children dying of starvation every day.The problem of imbalanced food distribution is only going to worsen.Next time when you eat, think about how lucky you are and please, do not just let food go to waste.
