"IMF表示西班牙經濟正在復甦"

(Business) IMF Says Spain is Recovering

The financial body says that further changes to the economy are needed.

Spain has been a high-profile casualty of the European sovereign debt crisis, but the International Monetary Fund (IMF) claims that the nation is improving its economy. Despite the progress, the financial body, which took part in Spains 2012 bailout, says that more needs to be done by the government to help create jobs and reform the banking sector.

In an official report, the IMF said: Strong reform progress is helping stabilize the economy and external and fiscal imbalances are correcting rapidly. But unemployment remains unacceptably high and the outlook is difficult. This calls for urgent action to generate growth and jobs, by both Spain and Europe.

The Spanish government seems to agree with the positive words, as the countrys economy minister Luis de Guindos said that Spain is coming out of recession and budget minister Cristobal Montoro added that finances are at a turning point. To help the economy tip in the right direction, the IMF says the government needs to amend labor laws to make it easier for local employers to change working conditions.
