(Travel) Freebies You Can Ask for On a Plane

Although the airline industry is known to be stingy with its in-flight amenities, there are a number of free things that you can get on a plane if you know what to ask for. Before settling yourself into your seat, you can ask for some sanitizing wipes to clean the armrests and tray table to ensure the area is germ-free. Since passengers are required to empty their water bottles before going through the security at the airport, most flight attendants would be willing to refill your water bottle for you. If you are really thirsty, you can also ask for a whole can of soda instead of a small cup that is actually half filled with ice. For big eaters whose appetites often remain unsatisfied after the in-flight snacks and meals, seconds can also be requested after all passengers have been served. Bandages and basic medications such as painkillers and antacids are usually available upon request as well.
