"華為預估獲利成長33%"

中國電子通訊商在歐洲和日本表現出色。

中國電信通訊製造大廠華為，預測2012年公司獲利成長33%。官方數據要到四月才會發表，但公司表示去年淨利為一百五十四億元（相當於二十五億美元）。華為產品去年在歐洲和日本銷售成績亮眼，幫助公司達到比預期中更好的結果。

Huawei, the Chinese telecommunications maker, predicted that its 2012 profits will be up 33%. Official figures will not be released until April, but the firm says it believes it made a net profit of 15.4 billion yuan (US$2.5 billion) last year. The firms products sold well in Europe and Japan last year, and that helped the company achieve better-than-expected results.

Huawei has reported that it expects to perform well in the coming year and has predicted that revenues will grow by 10-12%. One of the areas driving that growth will likely be smartphones, as chief financial officer Cathy Meng said: Smartphone penetration is still way too low and there is a lot of room for growth. Huawei reported that it has already made huge breakthroughs in selling smartphones in Japan, North America, Europe, and other high-end markets.

Not everything has gone well for Chinese telecommunications makers, though. Huaweis rival, ZTE said on January 20 that it expects it made a 2.9 billion yuan loss last year. Both firms are also facing allegations in places like the US that they are connected to the Chinese government. Such claims could hold back further growth, but both companies deny the allegations.
