年輕人要在上海找到合適的住宿越來越困難，但一地方組織認為，貨櫃式公寓就是住宿問題的解答。居住空間由舊的貨櫃改造而成，附臥室和浴室。二十平方公尺大的房子亦供電，並使用防火材料，可發揮隔熱和隔音的效果。

想出這個計畫的是I Dreaming團體，負責人李易在提到這些隔間時表示：「每個貨櫃都重新設計成房間，配有水電和空調。」他補充說，一排三層公寓可在一到兩個月內完工。公寓租金會控制在同區一般住宅的一半左右。

此計畫將在上海寶山區一塊五十畝大（相當於3.3公頃）的區域進行測試，李易表示這些房子的目標客群是年輕的企業主。他表示：「如果試驗計畫成功，我們會設法建造輔助設施。例如餐廳、辦公室和健身房等等。」

Old shipping containers are being converted into small, affordable homes.

Its getting harder for young people to find suitable accommodation in Shanghai, but a local organization thinks it has the answer in the form of container apartments. The living spaces are adapted from old ship containers and furnished with a bedroom and bathroom. The 20-square-meter homes also have electricity and fire retardant materials that act as heat and sound insulation.

The I Dreaming group came up with the plan, and its head, Li Yi, said of the compartments that every container is redesigned as a room equipped with water and electricity and an air conditioner.He added that a three-story apartment block could be finished in one to two months. Rents for the apartments will be kept at about half the cost of regular homes in the same area.

The project is set to be tested in a 50 mu (3.3 hectare) area of Shanghais Baoshan district, and Li said the homes will be aimed at young business owners. If the pilot project is successful, he said, we will try to build supporting facilities for the apartments, such as restaurants, offices and gyms.
