"中國計畫無障礙環境"

中國現在有一項新規定，要在該國促進無障礙的環境。這項規定要求所有的停車場、商業中心、住宅區、交通設施和其他公共基礎設施都能方便殘障人士進出。

去年，中國政府發布一項五年計畫，要改善中國8500萬名殘障人士的生活。殘障人士設施的建造工程是為了讓殘障人口能受益於中國的經濟和社會發展。根據規定，縣級以上的政府行政機關都將被要求制定出在公共場所裝置無障礙設施所需要的改造計畫。

鑑於該國城鄉發展的差距，鄉鎮將被給予一些時間來跟上縣市的腳步。另外也聽說，鄉鎮和村莊的建設標準要逐步符合規定中明訂的細節。

(Local)China Targets Disabled-Friendly Environment

China now has a new regulation for facilitating a disabled-friendly environment in the country. It requires all parking lots, commercial centers, living quarters, transportation facilities and other public infrastructure facilities to be accessible to the disabled.

Last year, the Chinese government issued a five-year blueprint for improving the lives of the 85 million disabled people in China. The construction of facilities for the disabled is intended to allow the disabled population to benefit from Chinas economic and social development. Under the regulation, government administrations above the county level will be required to develop renovation plans that call for the installation of disabled-friendly facilities in public venues.

Given the countrys rural-urban development gap, villages and townships will be given time to catch up with counties and cities. It is also said that the construction standards in townships and villages should gradually come to resemble those specified in the regulation.
