"環保人士獲環境獎"

馬軍是今年戈德曼環境獎的獲獎者之一。

一名帶頭的中國環保人士因為在環保議題上的努力而榮獲國際獎項。公共和環境事務研究所（IPE）的現任主任馬軍榮獲2012年的戈德曼環境獎。評獎委員會讚揚他設立線上污染源資料庫的成果，這使一些公司感到羞愧，進而重整他們的營運方式。他和其他五個人分享這個獎項。

Ma Jun was one of the winners of this years Goldman Environmental Prize.

A leading Chinese environmentalist has been honored with an international award for his work on green issues. Ma Jun, the current director of the Institute for Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE), has been awarded the 2012 Goldman Environmental Prize. The award committee recognized his work setting up an online database of polluters, which has shamed some corporations into cleaning up their practices. He shares the prize with five others.

Ma and several other workers at the IPE began compiling their database in 2006, and it now contains over 90,000 separate pieces of information. In addition to posting details of companies that have broken environmental regulations, Ma also created maps showing the local sources of air and water pollution.

Ma made a name for himself in the 1990s when he worked as an investigative journalist focusing on environmental topics. He further highlighted Chinas problems with pollution when he published Chinas Water Crisis in 1999. His fame and influence grew to the extent that in 2006 he was named on Time magazines 100 most influential people in the world list.
