"光棍節引爆結婚潮"

根據中國人的習俗，11月11日是光混日，各地的婚姻登記處湧入滿滿的人潮搶著結婚。美國的結婚聖地－賭城拉斯維加斯－也在這一天引爆結婚潮。在廣州越秀區民政局的婚姻登記處，成雙成對的男女不斷湧入，門口和天花板更掛滿了紅色彩球，一片喜氣洋洋。

11日其實不是重要節日，但中國人認為數字1有單身的意思，因此把1月1日視為小光棍節，1月11日或11月1日為中光棍節。而今年是2011年，到了11月11日這一天，數字加總共有6個1，網友因此戲稱其為本世紀最大的光棍節。

光在上海就有三千多對新人登記結婚，讓飯店等等婚禮相關業者趁勢搶攻這波光棍節婚姻商機。

There were around three thousand newlywed couples that registered to get married in Shanghai on that day alone, so hotels and wedding businesses all rushed to take advantage of the Singles Day business opportunity.
