"牛肉麵譯名不倫不類"

第七屆的台北牛肉麵節，吸引了許多外籍人士參加，但卻有市議員指出，台北牛肉麵節宣傳海報譯名「New row Mian」不倫不類。台北市副市長表示，海報上的用法是從2008年沿用至今， 當時徵詢了十七位美食專家，認為牛肉麵是台灣特有美食，希望能像pizza或sushi一樣成為專有名詞。但市議員批評，除非是久居台灣的外國人，否則根本沒人知道在賣什麼東西。要發揮創意也不能讓人看不懂，尤其是宣傳品，可能就這樣變成國際笑話。

(Life) The Ridiculous Translation for Beef Noodles

The 7th Taipei Beef Noodles Festival has attracted a lot of foreign friends to attend, but a legislator pointed out that the advertising posters translation of New row Mian is ridiculous. The vice mayor of Taipei City said that they have been using the translation since 2008. They had consulted 17 delicacy experts, who believed that beef noodles is a special cuisine of Taiwan, so they hoped it could be given an exclusive name like pizza or sushi. But the legislator criticized that nobody would know what it is except for foreigners who have lived in Taiwan for a long time. Advertisements should be clear for people to understand, or it could become a joke.
