Sachin Tendulkar is one of the finest batsmen ever to have picked up a cricket bat. Last week, Indias Little Master took one step towards being indisputably proclaimed the greatest ever.During a test match against the West Indies, he became the first player in the history of the game to score 15,000 test match runs.It was a double delight for Tendulkar, as India won the match by five wickets.

Another record eluded Tendulkar, though.He was bowled out for 76 in the second innings, 24 runs shy of becoming the first man to hit 100 centuries in international cricket. He has now been stuck on 99 centuries since March when he hit a hundred against South Africa. The eyes of the world will be on him for the rest of the series, with everyone willing him to pass the landmark.

Tendulkar holds a few other cricketing records. Hes hit more centuries in both test match and one-day international cricket than anyone else, and hes the only man to hit a double century in a one-day international.Amazingly, hes also useful with the ball and has 45 test match wickets to his name.
