He said that China will work hard to improve life for ordinary Chinese women. He noted that he wants women to be equal with men.

To achieve these goals, China will use a variety of different methods.Along with economic and educational measures, the country could even change laws to help out women.Xi also spoke about the problems of uneven development and environmental damage. The vice president said China had taken steps forward in both areas.Xi noted that economic development will always be a priority.

He added, however, that the country has done a lot to save energy and resources.Xi added that between 2006 and 2010, the ratio of energy consumption to GDP had fallen.The vice president also stated that China has done a lot to make its society more equal.
