"故宮提高票價"

此公告延遲了近一年才宣布。

故宮博物館正計畫要於明年四月提高票價。根據馮明珠院長指出，因為營運成本提高、油電價格上漲，故宮不得不提高入場票價。故宮提案將個人票價從160元新台幣提高至元250元新台幣、團體票價則從100元新台幣升至230元新台幣，優惠票價則從80元新台幣漲至150元新台幣。

價格上漲原先預定於四月生效，然而，因為抗漲聲浪強烈的關係，就被往後延了。審視博物館2014年的預算的同時，立法院的教育及文化委員會要求暫緩漲價，因為他們認為故宮館藏屬於公眾，不應用做賺錢的工具。

但是馮明珠捍衛此舉，表示會讓18類的人免費入場，包含：學生、退休的人、教師、低收入戶和附近居民。

(Culture) National Palace Museum to Hike Ticket Prices

The announcement came after a nearly year-long delay.

The National Palace Museum is planning to raise ticket prices next April. According to director Fung Ming-chu, the museum has been forced to increase the price of admission tickets due to rising operating costs and raises in electricity and fuel prices. It has been proposed that prices of individual tickets be raised from NT$160 to NT$250, group tickets be increased from NT$100 to $230, and discount tickets be raised from NT$80 to NT$150.

The price hike was originally set for this April, however, it had to be pushed back on account of strong opposition. While reviewing the museums budget for 2014, the legislatures Education and Culture Committee demanded that the price increase be suspended for it believed its collection belonged to the public and should not be used as a money making tool.

Nonetheless, Fung defended the move, saying free admission would be offered to 18 categories of people, including students, retirees, teachers, low-income individuals and residents in the neighborhood.
