"澳洲無尾熊面臨威脅"

地球暖化問題越來越嚴重。澳洲學者警告，如果氣溫繼續升高，將導致野生無尾熊面臨絕種的命運。

由於無尾熊需要茂密的森林做為棲息地，也需要大量的尤加利樹做為食物供給，但地球暖化問題讓澳洲幾乎年年發生乾旱與森林大火。在2009年澳洲遭受熱浪侵襲後迄今，林地面積已大幅減少，這無疑是一場慢性的生態浩劫。

要挽救這樣的局勢，澳洲政府應該要即早採取搶救林地的行動，大量復育森林植被。而全球各國也應該更積極投入降低二氧化碳排放與造林的計畫，才能根本解決溫室效應的威脅。

(International) Koalas in Australia Under Threat

The problem of global warming has become more and more serious. Australian academics warn that if temperatures continue to rise, wild koalas may face extinction.

Koalas need to live in dense forests with abundant eucalyptus trees being their food supply. However, the problem of global warming has caused Australia to suffer from drought conditions and forest fires almost every year. Ever since a catastrophic heatwave struck in 2009, forest area in the country has reduced substantially. This, without question, is an ecological disaster waiting to happen.

In order to remedy the situation, the Australian government should immediately implement reforestation measures to save their forests. Countries around the world should also work harder to reduce carbon emissions and promote afforestation so that the threat of global warming can be completely eliminated.
