"英國「間諜」於中國被殺"

華爾街日報聲稱，這名已逝的英國人已將中國該名高階政治人物的資訊提報給英國特勤局。

九月份對中國來說相當紛亂，因為最有機會入主高位的薄熙來在被控訴賄賂和濫用權力之後遭去職。報導表示，尼爾．海伍德在揭發官員的貪贓中扮演了相當重要的角色。

這名英國商人從1990年代早期就住在中國，並且和薄熙來以及他的妻子發展出密切的關係。在這段期間，據稱他經常會和英國情報員會面，並告知他薄熙來的私人事務。2011年11月，他被發現死在旅館房間內，當時警方表示他是飲酒過量致死。但是，三月時前公安局長王立軍告訴中國駐美領事館是薄熙來的妻子殺了海伍德，才又重開此案。她目前正面臨毒殺他的控訴。

(Local) British Spy Killed in China

The Wall Street Journal claims that a dead British has been passing on information about a high-level Chinese politician to the British secret service.

September marked a turbulent time for China as the frontrunner for top office, Bo Xilai, was removed from office over charges like bribery and abuse of power. Reports now say that Neil Heywood played an important role in exposing this official's dirty laundry.

This British businessman lived in China since the early 1990s and was able to develop a close relationship with Mr. Bo and his wife. During this time, he would allegedly meet with a British secret service agent regularly and inform him of Mr. Bos private affairs. In November 2011, he was found dead in his hotel room and at the time, the police said he died after consuming excessive amounts of alcohol. However, the case was reopened in March, after Mr. Wang, a former police chief, told the Chinese US consulate that Mr. Bo's wife killed Heywood. She is currently facing murder charges for poisoning him.

Even though the British government usually doesnt comment on these types of issues, the British foreign office was careful to say that ... Mr. Heywood was not an employee of the British government in any capacity. Hence, no one can really support or deny his role in exposing Mr. Bos wrongdoings.
