(Business) Apple Faces Problems, Slide in Shares

Shares of Apple Inc have hit a five month low, decreasing by 4%.

Currently, investors are concerned about Apples ability to sort out its iPhone 5 supply issues and competitors (namely Samsung Electronics and Amazon.com) advancements in a struggling economy. According to sources, Apple has lost 20% of its market value (estimated at 130 billion) since its record high in September.

After Steve Jobss death, many people have speculated that Apple may not be able to remain as innovative and fresh. This, combined with the possibility of another economic recession, puts a lot of strain on Apple Inc. Apple Inc admits that products like the new iPhone 5 have now become expensive to build, and, as a result, expects its industry-leading margin to shrink this quarter.

Another blow to the company came this week in a jury finding Apple Inc. guilty of infringement of patents, and Apple being asked to pay $368 million to VirnetX Holding Corp (an internet security software maker).
