"糖果讓蜂蜜變得又藍又綠"

據信法國北方的蜜蜂一直有在吃M＆M巧克力。

法國東北部的蜜蜂不斷產出藍色和綠色的蜂蜜，牠們的主人相信，這是因為蜜蜂們吃了M＆M巧克力。這群蜜蜂在法國亞爾薩斯地區希伯維列的農場裡築巢，附近的沼氣廠專門處理瑪氏公司──生產M&M的公司──的廢棄品。專家相信，如果蜜蜂吃下糖果上了色的糖衣，化學物質可能會影響其生產的蜂蜜。

沼氣廠發言人米耶哈德對此議題發表看法，他說：「我們（和養蜂農）同時發現了這個問題。我們馬上採取行動，阻止此情形。」他們採取的程序包含將工廠廢棄品裝在密封容器中，快速處理掉廢棄品，並在使用後確實清理容器。

來自英國養蜂協會的麥凱林解釋為何蜜蜂會吃糖果：「蜜蜂很聰明，若是沒有其他管道時，牠們知道哪裡會是糖的最佳來源。」不過，這樣的小聰明幫不了養蜂農，因為他們宣告異常染色的蜂蜜是賣不出去的。

It is thought that bees in northern France have been eating MM chocolates.

Bees in northeastern France have begun producing honey in shades of blue and green, and their owners believe its because the animals have been eating MMs. The bees nest on farms in Ribeauville in the Alsace region, and a nearby biogas plant processes waste products from a Mars V the company that makes MMs V factory. Experts believe that if bees eat the candies colored coatings, the chemicals could affect the honey they produce.

Philippe Meinrad, a spokesman for the biogas plant, commented on the issue, saying: We discovered the problem at the same time (the beekeepers) did. We quickly put in place a procedure to stop it.That procedure involves keeping factory waste in containers with airtight seals, processing waste products quickly, and cleaning out the containers after they have been used.

Explaining why the bees would eat the candy, Gill Maclean from the British Beekeepers Association said: Bees are clever enough to know where the best sources of sugar are, if there are no others available. Such knowledge wont help the beekeepers, though, as theyre claiming that the unusually colored honey is unsellable.
