(Travel) Gazing at the Stars at Yosemite Park

Yosemite National Park is just a few hours away from the busy cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles, but it couldnt be more different. Come during the daytime and enjoy exploring this 1,170 square miles park known for its waterfalls, rock formations and wildlife. Later in the day, start hiking up the Four Mile Trail or drive up to Glacier Point, which has an altitude of 7, 200 feet, to catch spectacular views of the Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, and the Nevada falls during sunset.Glacier Point is considered one of the best star-gazing spots in the country so dont forget to bring your binoculars or telescopes. As night approaches, you can actually view the Milky Way spanning the sky above you surrounded by thousands of twinkling stars.

(Star gazing) Brian and Caroline are a couple. They are taking in the sights while walking down the streets of Taipei. Lets listen to their conversation.

Caroline: I just love living in the city and seeing the whole city light up at night. It looks so beautiful.

Brian: I enjoy looking at it but I worry about light pollution. Look at the sky, can you see any stars?

Caroline: Thats weird, I cant see any stars. Are you trying to tell me that the lights from the buildings and streets affect how much we can see the sky?

Brian: Yes, because it is too bright, we can't see the stars in the city anymore. So people in the U.S. would take special trips to places like Yosemite Park where it is dark enough to see them.

Caroline: That sounds sad. I remember being able to enjoy the stars wherever I went as a child.

Brian: Thats the price of technology. Are there any places where we can go star gazing in Taiwan?

Caroline: I heard that there is a good place in CingJing Farm, Nantou. Dont forget to bring me along if you are going there.

Brian: I will if you say yes to my marriage proposal. Just imagine us getting married under the starry night sky... who knows? We might even get to wish on a shooting star!
