(Life)Office Workers Bringing Own Meals Could Save Thousands
An online survey by Taipei Medical University Hospital showed that preparing own meals instead of eating out could save over NTD1,000 a month. Around ninety percent of those questioned were office workers, ranging mainly from age 25 to 35. Su Hsiu-yueh, chief of the hospitals Department of Nutrition, pointed out that there are more than 8 million office workers in Taiwan and approximately 78% of them eat out. While those that buy their meals spend about NTD5,517 a month, those that bring their own meals to work spend NTD4,481, which is NTD1,056 less. Su also said preparing meals at home, using non-disposable food containers, can not only help save money, but also protect the environment.
Dialogue Example:
(Preparing Own Meals)Sandy and Charlie are colleagues. It is lunch break and Charlie is inviting Sandy out for lunch. Lets listen to their conversation.

Sandy: Sorry to disappoint you, but I brought my own lunch today.
Charlie: AwwKI was looking forward to our lunch date all morning!
Sandy: Sorry! Maybe next time! You know, you really should prepare your own meals instead of eating out all the time.
Charlie: You think so? Isnt it a lot of hassle though?
Sandy: Yes, but its much healthier and you could save over a thousand dollars a month if you bring your own meals to work.
Charlie: WowKthat is quite a lot! Alright, from tomorrow onwards Ill bring my own lunch as well.
