Eating slower is one way to give your body time to feel full, and eat less overall. But, we sometimes get caught up in the rush of our day-to-day activities that we don't pay attention to our eating. So, try switching the hand you use to eat with. Using your non-dominant hand will make you slow down, and therefore eat less. And if you can, try to eat without a TV, radio, or other distractions, so you can focus on your food and silence.
Visual tricks work well, too.Eating in front of a mirror makes you more conscious of your choices, and you're more likely to choose healthier food. And choose blue for decorating your eating space. Blue is a calming color, which will help you slow down.Avoid red, orange, or yellow, which do the opposite. Also, try smelling food instead of eating it, and brush your teeth before dessert to ward off cravings.Finally, wear tighter clothes to remind yourself not to overeat.
