On May 3, the Taiwan Dental Association presented the inaugural “Taiwan Dental Medical and Public Welfare Reporting Award,” recognizing media outlets for their in-depth coverage of dental medical contributions and social welfare issues. Ming-Hui Chou, host of TBS’s Lohas and Health program, received an honorable mention in the audio-visual category for her report on Saving Children’s Chewing Ability, showcasing the station’s dedication to frontline reporting and social responsibility.

TBS highlighted that Lohas and Health focuses on “disease prevention” and “health promotion,” incorporating the latest medical information to connect lifestyle aspects with healthcare issues. It also addresses current events, planning health topics that are of the greatest concern and should be understood by the general public, creating a healthy and joyful life.

According to host Ming-Hui Chou, receiving the inaugural Taiwan Dental Medical and Public Welfare Reporting Award for Saving Children’s Chewing Ability was a tremendous honor. The report was inspired by concerns over overly soft modern diets and highlighted the importance of chewing for children’s oral development, speech development, and general health. During the interview process, it became clear that translating professional knowledge into easily understandable content is a key responsibility of the media. We extend our gratitude to the medical professionals who shared their expertise. Moving forward, we will continue to focus on children’s health and public interest topics, using relatable reporting to raise awareness and encourage society to reconsider issues related to diet and growth.

Station Director Shao-Chien Hu also mentioned that in recent years, TBS has continued to produce diverse and engaging programs. The award-winning program, Lohas and Health, connected everyday life with healthcare, addressing issues of public interest. In the future, TBS will continue to provide listeners with health and healthcare-related information, as well as other practical life knowledge.

Listeners can tune in to the program, Lohas and Health, every Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 PM on FM 93.1 and AM 1134.
