"巴西世足賽即將開打"

四年一度的世界杯足球賽即將開打。位於南美洲的主辦國巴西，正如火如荼地準備賽事。不過原本應該是備受期待的國際運動盛事，卻不全然獲得巴西民眾的青睞。

巴西向來有足球王國的稱號，為了這次的世界杯，巴西政府已將投入好幾百億美元。不過巴西政府貪污情況日益嚴重，民眾不滿的情緒逐漸升高。再加上敗壞的治安也使得人心惶惶。為了這次的球賽還派軍警駐紮貧民窟，更增加部份人民對世足賽的反感。

這次舉辦世足賽的地點，位於巴西利亞與愉港市。這兩個地方在比賽期間，天氣不僅炎熱且十分潮濕，對來自歐洲等大陸型氣候的國家代表隊員們來說將會是不小的考驗。也因此外界預測本屆巴西將有機會以地主國的優勢，抱回冠軍獎杯。

(Sport) Brazil FIFA World Cup Set to Kick Off Soon

The countdown to the FIFA World Cup, which is held every four years, has begun. Host country Brazil, which is located in South America, has been busy preparing for the competition. However, the international sporting event, which is supposed to be highly-anticipated, has lost favor with many people in Brazil.

With Brazil being long regarded as the kingdom of soccer, the Brazilian government has spent several tens of billions of US dollars on preparations for the World Cup. Nevertheless, the increasing levels of corruption within the Brazilian government have led to growing discontent among the locals. What is more, the incredibly high crime rates have also resulted in a sense of apprehension. To make matters worse, Brazilian troops and police officers have even taken over slums ahead of the competition, fueling public resentment toward the World Cup.

This years World Cup will take place in Brasilia and Porto Alegre. Since these two cities will not only be stifling hot but also fairly humid during the event, teams from countries in Europe as well as those with a continental climate will face considerable challenges. This has in turn led to the speculation that Brazil may be able to use its home field advantage to win the World Cup trophy this year.
