"王郁琦說亞太經合會適合中台總統會面"

陸委會主委王郁琦說亞太經合會將是最適合馬英九總統和習近平總統會面的地方。

王郁琦說：「由於亞太經合會的與會者被稱為『會員經濟體』而不是國家，並且稱呼彼此為『領導者』，所以這場活動能讓他們（馬和習）以平等和互惠的原則會面，並且也不用擔心長久以來該如何稱呼彼此的問題。」

儘管王郁琦並不打算提出這次會面，如果被問到的話，他才會表示這場在北京舉辦的亞太經合會適合兩位總統會面。

王郁琦將於星期二出發去中國跟國臺辦（TAO）主任張志軍碰面。他表示他的參訪目的是要建立跟國臺辦之間的常態溝通機制並加深雙方的理解。

儘管有謠言說至少一邊會建立媒體辦事處，但目前還沒建立任何機構，並且極有可能要等兩岸的信任和溝通的聯繫更堅定後才有可能成真。

(Local) Wang Says APEC Summit Suitable Place For Presidents Meeting

Mainland Affairs Council Minister Wang Yu-Chi said the APEC summit would be the most suitable place for President Ma Ying-jeou and President Xi Jinping to meet.

Wang stated, As participants in the APEC summit are referred to as member economies instead of nations and address each other as leader, the event may allow them {Ma and Xi} to meet based on the principles of equality and reciprocity and without having to worry about the longstanding problem of how to refer to each other.

Although Wang does not intend to propose the meeting, if asked he will state that this years APEC summit, held in Beijing, is a suitable place for the two presidents to meet.

Wang will leave for China Tuesday to meet with the Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) director Zhang Zhijun. He stated his visit is aimed at establishing regular communication mechanisms with the TAO and deepening mutual understanding.

Although there are rumours of establishing cross-strait media offices on either side of the Taiwan Strait, nothing has been established at this time, and, most likely, will not become a reality until the two sides develop stronger feelings of trust and communication.
