"比特幣在中國的宣布後貶值"

(Technology) Bitcoin Plummets After PRC Announcement

Sales in Bitcoin dropped drastically after China announced its decision to block local companies from accepting yuan-based deposits. Firms have been told that they have until the end of January to sever links with the countrys Bitcoin exchanges.

One bitcoin traded for as low as 2,560 yuan, compared to an all-time high of 7,588 yuan in late November, and exchanges in other countries, such as Japan, also reported losses in value.

According to Emily Spaven, editor of digital currency news site CoinDesk, A lot of people put Bitcoins rise over the past few months to China where interest in it has gone through the roof, and with the Chinese governments announcement people have been panic-selling.

Some experts have hinted that the move was a result of locals using Bitcoin to bypass currency controls and move their savings out of the country. Jinny Yan, an economist at Standard Chartered bank stated, China is trying to grow its domestic economy and rebalance it from an export and investment-based model to a consumer driven one over the next decade, and to do that the authorities want to keep as much yuan within the country as possible.
