美國國務卿約翰凱瑞最近形容北韓領導人金正恩為「冷血無情」且「沒自信」，就他處死自己的姑父張成澤一事而論，許多人認為張成澤為北韓第二有權力的人。

張成澤被處決的原因仍不太清楚，不過北韓官方媒體報導宣稱張成澤在處決前被褫奪權力且被指控做出犯罪行為像是「國家財務系統管理不當、耽溺女色和酒精」。

凱瑞進一步闡釋說，金正恩的行為突顯了美國和其他國家應對北韓擁核子計畫、核武研發這點站在反對的同一陣線，因為這些舉止顯現出金正恩在理政時「不穩定和危險的不祥表徵」。自從金正恩兩年前掌權後，他已經實施了兩次長程導彈測試，還實施了反抗聯合國制裁的核子測試。凱瑞表示：「現在若要讓金正恩這種人握有核武更是令人難以接受。」

(International) Kerry Describes Kim Jong-un As Ruthless Insecure

US Secretary of State John Kerry recently described North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un as ruthless and insecure in regards to the execution of the leaders uncle, Jang Song-Taek, who many considered to be the second most powerful man in the country.

The reason for Jangs execution remain somewhat unclear, although the official North Korean media reports state that Jang had been stripped of his power and accused of criminal acts involving, mismanagement of the state financial system, womanizing and alcohol abuse prior to his execution.

According to Kerry, The insights we have tell us that he is spontaneous, erratic, still worried about his place in the power structure and maneuvering to eliminate any potential kind of adversary or competitor and does so obviously ruthlessly.

Kerry elaborated by stating Kims actions underscore a need for the US and other countries to take a unified stand against Pyongyangs nuclear program and weapons development, as they represent, an ominous sign of the instability and danger, under Kims rule. Kim has carried out two long-range missile tests, as well as nuclear tests in defiance of UN sanctions since he came to power two years ago. Kerry stated, To have nuclear weapon potentially in the hands of somebody like Kim Jong-un just becomes even more unacceptable.
