使多元成家方案合法的修法提案，支持和反對這提案的兩派人馬週末走上了街頭來表達他們的信念。

上萬人最近聚集在總統府前的凱達格蘭大道，爭論著同性婚姻可能會在台灣造成混亂。反對者認為同性婚姻和領養合法的話，會鼓勵「性解放」、削弱傳統家庭價值並有礙於孩童對性別角色的理解。此外，有些發言者控訴同志權利運動人士試圖推行通姦、群交和獸交。

由於這些控訴，同志權利提倡組織舉行媒體記者會來澄清他們的立場。該組織表示他們單純只是提倡性別平等並消除性別歧視。「阻止一個人和另一個人結婚侵害了他們的基本人權。」女學會理事姜貞吟表示，並補充：「人與人之間的不同，不應該成為歧視的理由。」

(Culture) Gay Marriage Supporters and Opponents Take to Streets in Taipei

Both groups in favor and in opposition to a proposed amendment to legalize alternative family formation took to the streets over the weekend to express their beliefs.

Tens of thousands of people recently rallied on Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Presidential Office, arguing that same-sex marriage could stir up chaos in Taiwan. The opponents believe the legalization of gay marriage and adoption would encourage sexual liberation, weaken traditional family values, and impede childrens understanding of gender roles. In addition, some speakers accused gay rights activists of trying to push for incest, group sex and bestiality.

In the wake of the allegations, gay rights advocacy groups held press conferences to clarify their position. The groups say they are simply promoting gender equality and eliminating gender discrimination. Preventing one person from marrying another person is an infringement of their basic human rights, said Women Professors Association chairperson Chiang Chen-yin, adding that differences between people should not be a cause for discrimination.
