"食安事件持續擴大"

食安事件似乎一發不可收拾。自從大統跟富味鄉被查出加入劣質假油後，連台灣食品加工業最大的頂新集團，旗下眾多產品都被查獲使用混充劣油與化學添加物，且涉案時間已長達六年以上。

頂新集團可說是兩岸食品加工業的龍頭。九零年代的頂新以康師父的品牌橫掃了全中國泡麵市場，更在1998年入主味全。目前頂新集團在中國每年約有千億人民幣以上的營業額，其中泡麵佔了將近七成營收。這次頂新涉案引發更多民眾的恐慌。

除了食用油外，在大賣場常見的五木拉麵與佳格公司所生產的部份嬰兒麥粉，以及其它以綠茶、抹茶或蔬菜等食品，也都被查出有使用銅葉綠素做為非法添加物的事證。民眾購買食品時，請盡量避免選購帶有綠色的加工食品以策安全。

(Local) Food Safety Scandal Continues to Escalate

The food safety scandal seems to have spiraled out of control. Ever since Chang Chi and Flavor Fulls oil products have been found to be adulterated, many products by Taiwans biggest food processor, Ting Hsin International Group, have also been proven to be mixed with substandard oil and contain chemical additives. Whats more, the products have been tainted for more than six years.

Ting Hsin International Group is considered a leading company in Taiwan and Chinas food processing industry. Back in the 1990s, the company dominated Chinas instant noodles market with the brand Master Kong. It even took over Wei Chuan Foods Cooperation in 1998. Currently, Ting Hsin generates hundreds of billions of yuan in annual sales in China, with sales of instant noodles accounting for nearly seventy percent of its revenue. Ting Hsins involvement in the case has led to greater panic among the public.

Aside from cooking oil products, Wu-Mu noodles and some of Quakers oat products for babies, which are both commonly sold in supermarkets, as well as foods that contain green tea, matcha or vegetables, have all been found to have used the illegal additive copper chlorophyll. For safety reasons, people are urged to avoid purchasing processed foods with green food coloring when shopping for groceries.
