"台星簽訂自由貿易協定"

台星最近簽署了自由貿易協定（FTA），此為台灣首度跟東南亞國家簽署自由貿易協定。

這項協定由駐新加坡代表謝發達和新加坡駐台貿易代表于文豪簽署，它是簽署來「促進台灣更有效取得跟貿易夥伴進一步的雙邊或多邊經濟往來」。經濟部長張家祝表示：「這是台灣自由經濟進展的里程碑，也是我們參與區域經濟整合的里程碑。」

此項協定名為「台星經濟夥伴協定」，含有17章節。協定涵蓋議題像是跨界貿易服務、調停條款、貨品市場進入條款、政府採購和電子商務、外資、貿易救濟、海關程序、智慧財產保護和貿易規範，並且將於明年初生效。

台灣將於15年內廢去99.48%的關稅界線，並提供65.97%農產品無關稅的份額，以及87.39%工業產品無關稅的份額。根據中華經濟研究院的研究指出，此協定預期將替台灣的未來15年的GDP增加7.01億美金，也將促進國內產品輸出增加421億新台幣，並創造6154份職缺。

(Politics) Free Trade Pact Signed by Taiwan Singapore

A free-trade agreement (FTA) between Singapore and Taiwan recently signed is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.

The pact, signed by Representative to Singapore Fadah Hsieh and Singaporean Trade Representative to Taiwan Calvin Eu, was signed in order to boost the nations efforts to pursue further economic engagement with trading partners bilaterally and multilaterally. Minister of Economic Affairs Chang Chia-juch stated, This is a milestone achievement for Taiwans progress toward economic liberalization and our participation in regional economic integration.

The pact, named the Agreement between Singapore and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu on Economic Partnership (ASTEP), contains 17 chapters. It covers such topics as cross-border trade in services, dispute settlement provisions, market access conditions for trade in goods, government procurement and e-commerce, foreign investment, trade remedies, customs procedures, intellectual property protection and trade rules, and is set to take effect early next year.

Taiwan will remove 99.48 percent of its tariff lines within 15 years and provide tariff-free access to 65.97 percent of its agricultural products and 87.39 percent of its industrial products. The agreement is expected to add US$701 million to Taiwans GDP over the next 15 years, as well as boost domestic output by NT$42.1 billion and create 6,154 jobs, according to a study conducted by Chung-Hua Institution of Economic Research.
