"英國海外學生的滿意度落後"

英國或許是外國學生之中最熱門的點，但英國的大學體驗似乎辜負了它的美名。

就海外學生的滿意度而言，英國正落到北歐和東歐小國之後。根據由歐洲的進修建議網站「進修入口」營運的「學生經驗交流」網站所說，在17,000學生提到去海外念書的經驗時，英國只排到第13名。於此同時，斯洛維尼亞排名最高，後面接挪威和奧地利。

值得注目的是，除了學術方面之外，也有許多因素納入考量。造成最大不滿的因素是生活花費、社交生活和天候。同樣地，住宿品質和數量也引來許多抱怨。

「進修入口」的共同創辦人愛德文范瑞斯特對此結果發表了意見，說歐陸的其他國家作為吸引人的選項正在興起，尤其因為用英語授課的碩士課程數量增多，和低廉許多的唸書花費。「在更加透明化且越來越競爭的市場之中，持續提升學生的體驗很重要。」他補充。

The UK may be the most popular destination for overseas students, but its university experience does not seem to live up to expectations.

The UK is lagging behind smaller countries in Northern and Eastern Europe in terms of overseas student satisfaction. According to a survey by Student Experience Exchange, a website run by European study advice site StudyPortals, the UK only ranks 13th among the 17,000 students who commented on their studies abroad. Meanwhile, Slovenia ranks highest, followed by Norway and Austria.

What is noteworthy is that a number of factors were taken into consideration besides the academic aspects. The factors that elicit the greatest discontent are the cost of living, social life and the weather. Similarly, the quality of accommodation and its availability also attract a large number of complaints.

Commenting on the findings, Edwin van Rest, co-founder of StudyPortals, says that other countries on the continent are emerging as attractive options, especially with the increasing availability of masters courses taught in English and considerably lower cost of studying. In a more competitive market with increased transparency, it is vital to keep improving the student experience, he added.
