(Travel) Taking in Sydneys Highlights
Sydney is famous throughout the world for its gorgeous, sandy beaches and stunning coastline. Some of the citys biggest attractions, though, can be found in and around its picturesque harbor. Within the confines of the Sydney Harbour National Park, visitors will find areas of natural, undeveloped land, walking paths, and 5 unique harbor islands. The harbor area is, of course, best known for its bridge and Sydney Opera House. The iconic Harbour Bridge has been nicknamed the coat hanger for its rounded appearance, and for just NT$300 you can climb up to the top of its arch. The opera house ranks as Australias most recognizable building. In fact, it's probably one of the most recognizable in the world. Incredibly for a structure that still looks so modern and innovative, the building is actually almost 40 years old.
Elsewhere in the city, the Royal Botanical Gardens are popular with residents and tourists alike. They were created by the ruling English authorities in 1816 and feature rose gardens and an ancient pine tree. The fish market also teems with people every morning as around 50 tons of seafood is auctioned daily. If the sight of all that food leaves you feeling hungry, the center conveniently houses a few restaurants where you can sample some good old Aussie cooking.
