一個新節目將播出員工為保有工作而奮鬥。

現代社會中，絕大部分的娛樂都來自電視實境秀。有很多以烹飪、美髮、農耕、父母管教及治療病患為題的節目。生活百態幾乎都包含在內，電視團隊如此深掘為的就是要讓觀看節目的大眾能夠看見生活的真實面。一般來說，這些節目的得獎者都將獲得獎金或者一份驚人的新工作，但現在卻有一個實境秀是這些明星必須受罰。

這個節目叫做《誰該滾蛋？》，到美國小企業中了解幕後實況。這些員工要決定誰該接受責罰，然後決定處罰為何。可能是被降級、罰款或者是解雇。

此節目背後的想法是員工通常比老闆清楚誰認真工作，而誰是害群之馬。這有時候是真的，但這個在電視上撥出人們為保有工作而奮鬥的概念──那工作是他們支付貸款和養家糊口的手段──必定也讓許多觀眾覺得很不愉快。

(Culture) Reality TV Shows Its Ugly Side

A new show will feature employees fighting for their jobs.

In modern society, a huge amount of our entertainment is generated by reality TV shows. There are programs built around cooking, hairdressing, farming, parenting, and treating patients. Almost every aspect of life has been covered by TV crews that delve ever deeper to show the viewing public what life is really like. Normally, the winners of these shows get a cash prize or an amazing new job, but now, theres a new show in which the stars receive punishments.

The show is called Does Someone Have to Go? and it goes behind the scenes at small US companies. Workers decide which employee will be on the receiving of disciplinary measures and then later decide what their punishment will be. It could be demotion, a fine, or even a sacking.

The idea behind the show is that employees often know better than bosses who is working hard and who is pulling everyone else down. This may sometimes be true, but the idea that someone could be shown on TV fighting for their job V their means of paying their mortgage and supporting their families V must also seem abhorrent to many viewers.
