Does it take forever for your computer to boot or load programs? Instead of complaining and crying over it, why not follow some simple steps to clean out your computer and keep it in tip-top shape? Disable all unneeded programs that run automatically and search for updates each time there is an internet connection for this will only slow your computer down. If internet browsing is your concern, try deleting existing temporary internet files or use a quicker browser like Google Chrome. Avoid filling the computer with unimportant files and consider investing in an external hard drive to house all your movies, music, and e-books.

(Slow Computer) Fanny is Belindas friend. Fanny is returning the laptop she borrowed from Belinda earlier to finish her report for school. She has noticed that it is running very slowly and wanted to share some tips with Belinda on how to speed the laptop up. Lets listen to their conversation.

Fanny: Thanks for letting me borrow your laptop in my time of need. I accidentally downloaded an unknown program into my computer and it crashed completely.

Belinda: Anytime. You would have done the same thing for me if I were in your place.

Fanny: I have to say that I was surprised. Your computer is a new model but the speed is not very impressive.

Belinda: I dont know what happened. At the beginning, the computer was, like, one of the fastest ones I have ever used. But now, its taking double or, even, triple the time it used to take to start up or open a computer application.

Fanny: It might be because you have too much stuff on your computer. I took a look at your computer memory and its nearly filled to capacity.

Belinda: What? Thats impossible. I did not install anything other than the usual Windows programs.

Fanny: That is true. However, you have downloaded a lot of movies to your computer so its the likely culprit causing the slowdown.

Belinda: I should probably include cleaning out old files in my computer as part of my annual spring cleaning routine.
