從2012年8月30日起，eBay將禁止拍賣算命和巫術相關的服務。

全球線上拍賣網站eBay宣布一項新措施，表示將移除被列為「無實體」類別的服務，其中包含塔羅牌解讀、咒語、詛咒和賜福。該網站解釋此決定是因為他們無法解決這些服務所衍生的買賣糾紛。

As of August 30, 2012, the sale of fortune-telling and witchcraft-related services will be banned on eBay.

Global online auction site eBay has announced its move to remove services that have been listed under intangible categories, including tarot readings, spells, curses and blessings. The site explained that the decision was made due to their inability to resolve conflicts between buyers and sellers of these services.

However, many users are unhappy about the decision. A petition against the move has been posted on website gopetition.com, in which 1440 signatures have been collected. Some have voiced their opposition to the decision, saying the services should be made available to those that genuinely believe in them, while others have drawn on previous experiences and commended the results.

Nonetheless, Michael Marshall, vice-president of the Merseyside Skeptics Society, is less convinced. I think it's solid consumer protectionK Some people will cry it's a form of censorship, but the fact of the matter is things like tarot, spells and curses are all highly unproven, he said.
