世界之愛和平總會日　柏克萊市慶祝16 週年紀念日

(柏克萊 - 8月5日) 17位世界之愛和平總會（FOWPAL）志工們聚集在加州柏克萊市政府前並走訪加州大學柏克萊分校，高唱「世界之愛」歌曲，傳播愛與和平，並紀念「世界之愛和平總會日」宣告 16 週年。志工們也分享全球祝禱文，祈願災厄人禍遠離，世上生靈皆平安，不再恐懼。祈願世人良心覺醒，善心善念，扭轉世局。

BERKELEY AUGUST 5 2021 – Seventeen members of the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) gathered in front of Berkeley City Hall and visited UC Berkeley to sing the song “Love of the World” spread love and peace and commemorate the 16th anniversary of the proclamation of the Federation of World Peace and Love Day. They also shared their best wishes for the world hoping that global citizens will stay safe and healthy that people’s conscience will be awakened and that with conscience and collective efforts the world will move toward a brighter future.

2005年 8 月 5 日為柏克萊市「世界之愛和平總會日」，用來肯定世界之愛和平總會(FOWPAL)的貢獻，該組織由洪道子博士於2000年在美國成立，這個國際和平組織的成員來自全世界，洪博士與FOWPAL成員至今拜訪了101個國家，透過舉辦世界之愛和平鐘鳴鐘儀典、文化交流及愛與和平高峰會，推廣愛、和平與良心的理念。自 2000 年金鐘首次由時任新加坡總統的S.R. Nathan鳴響以來，全球已有122國、399位重要領袖鳴響和平鐘並許下和平心願，包括元首、聯合國大使及7位諾貝爾和平獎得主。

August 5 2005 was proclaimed the Federation of World Peace and Love Day in the City of Berkeley in recognition of FOWPAL’s contributions to the world. FOWPAL is an international peace organization established by Dr. Hong Tao-Tze in the United States in 2000 with members from around the world. Since its inception it has visited 101 nations fostering the ideas of love peace and conscience by conducting ceremonies of ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love cultural exchanges and World Summits of Love and Peace. Since the Bell was first rung by the then President of Singapore S.R. Nathan in 2000 three hundred ninety-nine visionary leaders from 122 nations including heads of state and government UN ambassadors and seven Nobel Peace Prize laureates have rung the Bell and made wishes for peace.

十六年前，柏克萊市議員 Kriss Worthington 代表市長鳴響和平鐘，希望「結束種族主義、性別歧視、年齡歧視、反猶太主義和所有形式的偏見並開啟愛與和平」。Worthington市議員代表湯姆·貝茨市長頒發表揚狀給洪博士，並宣告2005 年 8 月 5 日為柏克萊市「世界之愛和平總會日」。

Sixteen years ago Kriss Worthington Councilmember of the City of Berkeley on behalf of Mayor Tom Bates rang the Bell and wished for “an end to racism sexism ageism anti-semitism and all forms of prejudice. And a new beginning for love and peace.” On behalf of the mayor he presented Dr. Hong with a proclamation by which Mayor Bates designated August 5 2005 as Federation of World Peace and Love Day in the City of Berkeley.

FOWPAL的成立可回溯到1999年夏天，在洪博士帶領下所進行的一系列愛與和平文化行。1999年8月1日他在舊金山發表題為「一心世界 快樂之源」的演講，強調：「選擇了美國這個世界的窗口做為第一站，是希望有更多不同信仰、不同種族的人，不論富貴貧賤，都能和我們一樣，擁有一顆幸褔快樂的心。過去的路，我們已經走過來了；未來的路，更需要大家攜手同心，勇於面對自己，為自己創造真正有意義的人生。更期待著我們能夠早日回到沒有悲傷、沒有恐懼、沒有戰爭、沒有痛苦的祥和世界。」

The establishment of FOWPAL is related to a series of cultural exchange trips of love and peace under the leadership of Dr. Hong in the summer of 1999. On August 1 of that year he delivered a speech end “A World of One Heart A Well-spring of Happiness” in San Francisco emphasizing “We have chosen the United States as our first stop. We also hope that those of different beliefs and races both rich and poor will share with us our happiness. We have walked the path of life. The future journey requires that everyone work hand in hand and be courageously responsible to themselves so that he can create a meaningful life. We are looking forward to returning to a harmonious world in which there is no suffering no fear no war and no pain.”

來自舊金山的FOWPAL成員 Amy Chen回憶：「2005 年 8 月 5 日，洪博士在加州大學柏克萊分校發表題為『瞭解人類生命的潛能-生命哲學』的演講。洪博士的話讓我留下很深刻的印象，他強調良心的重要，並激勵我們思考生命的意義和價值，鼓勵我們向內看，不發脾氣、不惡念、不虛偽、不好勇鬥狠。他講述陰陽哲理大智慧，並鼓勵人們回歸純真自然的生命。」

Amy Chen a FOWPAL member from San Francisco recalled “On August 5 2005 Dr. Hong delivered a speech at UC Berkeley d ‘Exploring the Potential of Humankind – The Philosophy of Life.’ I was very impressed with his remarks as he emphasized the importance of conscience inspired us to think about the meaning and value of our lives and encouraged us to look inwards and refrain from getting angry thinking negative thoughts or being pretentious or belligerent. He talked about the profound wisdom and philosophy of yin and yang and urged us to restore our true selves.”

FOWPAL堅信良心是愛與和平的泉源。洪博士於2014年發起良心時代運動，強調每個人都是良心領袖，並具有開啟和平能量的鑰匙。該運動的目的是鼓勵人人遵循自己的良心，說好話，做好事，並對他人產生正面影響。洪博士強調：「人人有良心，天下皆太平；人人有快樂，家家皆幸福」。

FOWPAL firmly believes that conscience is the wellspring of love and peace. In 2014 Dr. Hong initiated the movement of An Era of Conscience (ANEOC) and advocated that everyone is a leader of conscience and has the key to activate the energy of peace. The ive of the movement is to encourage all people to follow their conscience speak kind words do good deeds and exert positive influences on others. Dr. Hong stressed “With conscience comes a peaceful world； with happiness comes a joyful family.”

從 2018 年 4 月 5 日開始，FOWPAL 在紐約和維也納的聯合國與巴林、赤道幾內亞和吉里巴斯駐聯合國大使以及其他國家駐聯合國大使和代表舉行多次會議，致力於推進一項題為「用愛與良心促進和平文化」的決議文草案。2019年7月25日，聯合國通過巴林王國提交的題為「用愛與良心促進和平文化」的決議文草案，宣布每年4月5日為「國際良心日」。此後，FOWPAL 每月都參與各種活動，以廣傳這個日子的意義，喚醒人們的良心。

Starting from April 5 2018 FOWPAL held several meetings at the United Nations in New York and in Vienna with the UN ambassadors of Bahrain Equatorial Guinea and Kiribati as well as ambassadors and representatives of other permanent missions to the UN to work on a draft resolution d “Promoting the Culture of Peace with Love and Conscience.” On July 25 2019 the United Nations adopted a draft resolution submitted by the Kingdom of Bahrain end “Promoting the Culture of Peace with Love and Conscience” declaring April 5th the International Day of Conscience. Since then FOWPAL has been engaged in various events each month to promote the significance of the day and to awaken people’s conscience.

自2020年4月5日起，因為全球COVID-19 疫情升溫，FOWPAL 改以每月舉辦線上活動，藉由響應各種聯合國日，推廣良心的重要性。至今，已舉辦32場網路論壇活動。由於疫情仍在全球肆虐，FOWPAL特以鳴鐘儀典及祝禱文，為世界祈福：祈願疫病早日終結，春暖花開，希望重現。祈願災厄人禍遠離，世上生靈皆平安，不再恐懼。祈願世人良心覺醒，善心善念，扭轉世局。此祝禱文已被翻譯成70多種語言，並在全球廣傳。

Since April 5 2020 because of the pandemic FOWPAL has started to host online events in support of various United Nations days to promote the importance of conscience each month. To date it has hosted 32 virtual forums. As the pandemic is still raging around the world FOWPAL expressed its best wishes for the world by sharing a ceremony of ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love and Dr. Hong’s prayer for the world which has been translated into over 70 languages and shared widely: “We pray that the pandemic will end soon and that beautiful days and hope will return. We pray that there will be no more disasters or man-made calamities and that all beings in the world will be safe and no longer fearful. We pray that people’s conscience will be awakened and that the world will be transformed with our kind hearts and good deeds.”

在這艱難的時刻，人們表達自己的良心善意和正能量以幫助穩定世界非常重要。FOWPAL成員們用唱歌表達對柏克萊市與世界的祝福，並與現場遊客分享這首《世界之愛》。來自Cupertino 的 Allen Lu 表示： 「希望疫情早日結束，我們將持續鼓勵更多人一起合作，喚醒世人的良心，實現一個充滿愛與和平的永續世界！」Allen特別分享「國際良心日宣言」( http://www.icday.org/declaration.html)，鼓勵世人遵循良心行事，人人上網連署，一起做好事，目前已有195國人士連署。

In these trying times it is important for people to express their kind thoughts and good energy to help stabilize the world. The FOWPAL members sang a song d “Love of the World” to convey their best wishes to the City of Berkeley and the world while sharing cards containing the lyrics with other visitors. Allen Lu a member of FOWPAL from Cupertino said “We hope the pandemic will end soon. We will continue to encourage others to work together to awaken the conscience in more people and to realize a sustainable world of love and peace!” He also encouraged global citizens to endorse the Declaration of International Day of Conscience which has been endorsed by people in 195 nations. With that he urged people to follow their conscience and do good deeds together.
