Golfing holidays are becoming more common and more popular, and beautiful, well-planned courses are springing up all over the world. But since only the keenest golfer wants to play all day every day, and since golfers partners and families might have no interest in the game, golf resorts need to offer a little more than just an excellent 18 holes. Fortunately, there are now several resorts where you can do a lot more than just play golf.

For an African golfing adventure, why not play a round at the Skukuza Golf Course in South Africas Kruger National Park? You tee off for the first hole next to Lake Panic, which is full of crocodiles and hippopotamuses, and locals advise everyone to look in the hole cups before picking up balls, as poisonous snakes often take refuge there.

If you prefer the cold, check out the North Star Gold Club in Fairbanks, Alaska. North Americas most northerly course is home to a host of arctic wildlife. This is also the perfect place to come if you love golf so much you want to play 24 hours a day. During June, the sun never sets here, so, in theory, you could play around the clock.
