Scientists are saying that popcorn might be the perfect snack. In some ways, its even better for you than fruit and vegetables. US researchers recently discovered that popcorn has lots of antioxidants, which keep you young. The reason why it has so many is that popcorn contains very little water, unlike fruit and vegetables.
The best parts of popcorn are the hard shells that sometimes get caught in your teeth. This part has the most antioxidants and fiber. The study was presented by Dr. Joe Vinson, and he noted that popcorn is the only snack thats made entirely of whole grains. He recommended that people eat more of it.
However, the scientists warned that putting butter, salt, and sugar on popcorn makes it very fatty and unhealthy. They advise people to eat plain popcorn. They also say that we shouldnt stop eating fruit and vegetables, as they are good for our health in many other ways.
