"4G時代即將來臨"

今年2014年全球的手機用戶將達到45.5億，也就是說全世界每三個人，就有兩個人就有手機。而智慧型手機用戶也將高達17.5億支。而台灣也將引入LTE的4G系統，屆時民眾利用手機上網的速度就更加快速。

4G的速度是一般傳統3G上網的4－10倍左右，能夠讓使用者在下載圖片或是影片時，更加輕鬆便利。而4G可結合其它智慧裝置做更有效的終端應用。尤其是線上收視影片或是玩網路遊戲，連線速率都將更為快速。

4G服務上線後，勢必將讓產業產生重大的轉變。未來的電信業者除了考慮到市佔率外，更應該思考該如何利用高速網路，提供給消費者更棒的加值服務，才能在競爭激烈的4G市場環境中脫穎而出。

(Technology) Era of 4G Arriving Soon

The number of cell phone users in the world is expected to reach 4.55 billion this year. In other words, two out of every three people in the world will have a cell phone. As for smartphones, the number of users is also expected to reach 1.75 billion. With 4G LTE network soon to be introduced in Taiwan, the public will be able to enjoy an even faster mobile internet connection when the time comes.

4G network is approximately 4 to 10 times faster than the traditional 3G network, allowing users to download pictures or video clips more easily. Moreover, 4G technology can be incorporated into other smart devices for more efficient terminal applications. In particular, the internet connection speed will be higher when viewing videos or playing games online.

The launch of 4G services will without a doubt be a game-changer in the industry. In the future, on top of taking market share into account, telecommunications companies will also need to think about how they can take advantage of high speed internet to provide customers with even better mobile value-added services in order to stand out in the competitive 4G market.
