Gerald:
Christine:
Christine:
(Life) Getting Through Your Workday Without Going Crazy
Sometimes, your work just makes you want to scream. From bothersome coworkers, to rude customers, and then dealing with office politics on top of it, our workplaces can be stressful just by existing, even before you begin the job you were hired for! Luckily, there are easy ways to get through your day. Staying calm is the No. 1 most important thing to do. Breathe deeply, take a short walk, go get some coffee, focus on something else, anything that will take your mind off what is happening and relax you is what you need to do. If you need to close your office door, or simply avoid the people who make you frustrated, do so. And remember, other people are probably feeling the same way you are, so give them some patience, and a little space. The other thing to remember?Keep your work... at work. Taking your office stress home with you will only create a vicious cycle that sucks in your friends and family, as well.
Dialogue Example:
(Office Stress) Gerald and Christine are a couple. Geralds had a hard day at work. Lets listen to their conversation.
Gerald: God.... finally home.
Christine: Whats wrong
Gerald: I just cant stand some of the people I work with. Non-stop gossip and pushing each others buttons.
Christine: Well, cant you just avoid those people
Gerald: Some, yes. But others I need to work with every day on projects. I wish I could just stuff a sock in their mouths to shut them up.
Christine: Haha. Well, you can always just tune them out. Let them talk while you focus on something else. Eventually, theyll get the point.
Gerald: I guess so. Ive been taking walks around the building several times a day. Its really been helping.
Christine: Thats great! You could also try some short meditation sessions. That always helps me.
