最近舉行了第71屆金球獎，而《瞞天大佈局》和《自由之心》將最大獎項帶回家。以1970年代Abscam醜聞為故事主軸改編的犯罪喜劇片《瞞天大佈局》，贏得了最佳戲劇類影片（最佳音樂與喜劇類影片）的最佳影片和兩項演員獎項──艾美亞當斯拿下最佳女主角、珍妮佛勞倫斯則奪得最佳女配角。在台上珍妮佛勞倫斯不費吹灰之力就迷倒了眾生，有些人則稱其為「勞倫斯風格」，她自嘲自己上台說感言時有多害怕。

同時，描繪了美國奴隸的恐怖事實的《自由之心》則贏得了眾所垂涎的戲劇類最佳影片。這部歷史劇以七項提名闖進典禮，但是直到當晚最後的獎項才拿下大獎，可說是最佳的獎項。

至於其他的獎項，則是獎落各家。凱特布蘭琪拿下（戲劇類影片）最佳女主角獎，她在《藍色茉莉》一片中精采的表現讓她實至名歸。另一方面，馬修麥康納則因在《藥命俱樂部》的角色奪下（戲劇類影片）最佳男主角之冠。

The two films were the biggest winners of the night.

The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards took place recently with American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave taking home the top prizes. Crime-comedy drama American Hustle, which is based loosely on the late 1970s Abscam scandal, won best motion picture (comedy or musical) and two acting awards V best actress for Amy Adams and best supporting actress for Jennifer Lawrence. On stage, Lawrence was effortlessly charming, or as some call it Lawrence-esque, joking about how terrified she was to give her acceptance speech.

Meanwhile, 12 Years a Slave, which portrays the horrific reality of slavery in America, won the coveted best drama Golden Globe. The historical drama headed into the ceremony with seven nominations, but did not win until the last award of the evening, and arguably the best of them all.

As for the other awards, they were spread around. The award for best actress (drama) went to Cate Blanchett, who could not have deserved it more for her riveting performance in Blue Jasmine. Matthew McConaughey, on the other hand, was crowned best actor (drama), for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.
