Belize is a tiny country on the northeast coast of Central America. It has a great mix of Caribbean cool and Spanish heat. Close to Belize City, there are hundreds of small islands called cayes. They are the perfect places to relax, enjoy the scenery, and soak up the local culture.

One of the nicest is Caye Caulker. Unlike some of the other islands, its not very expensive there. There are also no large, resort hotels, so youll have to get out and explore the island. There are really only two things to do here, have fun in the water or relax. If youre not feeling energetic, just sit in one of the many cafes or lie down on the beach.

If you want more action, the sea near Belize is a real playground. The clear waters are full of tropical fish and its a great place to swim. You could even learn how to scuba dive. Belize is home to the worlds second biggest coral reef, and visitors should take a boat trip out to see it.
