"歐巴馬談及墨西哥未來的新面貌"

週五，總統歐巴馬向墨西哥民眾發表他對美墨關係的看法。

轉述自歐巴馬說的：「我來到墨西哥，是因為現在將舊思維擱置一旁的時候了。」並提及墨西哥成長中的經濟，和兩國應如何成為對等的夥伴。

歐巴馬甚至露了一手西班牙文，來表示他對南邊鄰國的誠意，並繼續說：「這段關係中，並沒有分誰是老大，誰是老么。我們是對等的夥伴，兩個獨立自主的國家，必須為相互利益和相互尊重來共同合作。」他還說：「……一個新的墨西哥正在崛起。」

歐巴馬目標是，在美國創造更強勁的成長和更多工作機會，而四月的失業率小幅跌至7.5%。他的期許就是美墨合作，協力完成亞太平洋快速成長的貿易市場。

歐巴馬也提到，他希望取得國會的許可，來全面修訂美國移民法。而他認為：「……墨西哥正在增進民主意識，公民們挺身而出，並發聲反對暴力與赦免權，有膽識的媒體作為能使領導者負責。」

(Politics) Obama Speaks Of A New Mexico In The Future

President Barack Obama spoke with the Mexican public on Friday about his views on US and Mexican relations.

Obama was quoted as saying, I have come to Mexico because its time to put old mindsets aside, and referred to Mexicos growing economy and how the two countries should be seen as equal partners.

Obama even tried his hand at speaking Spanish as a means to show his sincerity to his Southern neighbors, and went on to say that, In this relationship there is no senior partner or junior partner. We are two equal partners, two sovereign nations that must work together in mutual interest and mutual respect. He also said, ...a new Mexico is emerging.

Obamas goal was aimed at creating stronger growth and jobs in the US, as the jobless rate for April dropped slightly to 7.5 percent. It is his hope that the US and Mexico join forces to compete for the fast-growing markets in trade goods in the Asia Pacific.

Obama also said that he hopes to gain congressional passage that would lead to an overhaul of the U.S. Immigration laws, and that he sees, ...a Mexico that is deepening your democracy, citizens who are standing up and saying that violence and impunity is not acceptable, a courageous press working to hold leaders accountable.
