Summertime along Italys legendary coastline is glorious.

Italys Amalfi Coast is a place of legends. The rocky, wind- and sea-swept piece of land in the countrys southwest reaches is famed for its beauty and culture, and thousands of foreign travelers go there every year to soak up the myriad of delights it has to offer. There is beauty everywhere you look, and, this being Italy, great food is in abundance too.

One of the areas greatest treasures is Amalfis Cattedrale di SantAndrea. It dates back to the 10th century and features a variety of architectural styles, although the main design is a combination of Northern European and Moorish influences. Its Baroque interiors and huge bronze doors make the climb up the hill the cathedral sits on definitely worthwhile.

Adding to the regions beauty is the music that so often fills the air. During the summer months, the town of Ravello puts on a wonderful festival that brings together orchestral concerts, choral arrangements, and chamber music. There are also live performances by ballet troupes and screening of independent movies.
