(Travel) Finding Clean Water While Traveling

Many people prefer to buy bottled water when they are on the go to avoid drinking local water, which may be contaminated and can lead to stomach problems. However, all that plastic waste can create quite a pile of trash, which is why you should stick to the following eco-friendly methods instead. If you are not in a rush and have access to a heating source, boiling is the most effective method as it can kill all bacteria, parasites and viruses in just one minute. Iodine or chlorine tablets are also cheap and easy to transport. Though, they can leave an unpleasant taste. Filters are another effective alternative, but make sure the filter you are using is also a purifier so that it can block viruses as well as bacteria and parasites.

(Clean Water) Elise and Courtney are friends and they are traveling abroad together. Elise is thirsty and wants to buy some water. Lets listen to their conversation.

Elise: Gosh, Im really thirsty. Let me just buy a bottle of water from that vendor over there.

Courtney: You should have filled you water bottle with water from the hotel this morning like me.

Elise: How do you know the water from the hotel is clean?

Courtney: I dont. Thats why I always prepare chlorine tablets when Im traveling.

Elise: But they make water taste disgusting!

Courtney: Hey, would you rather have stomach pain and nonstop diarrhea or drink water with a slightly unpleasant taste?

Elise: Good point. Ill remember to bring some chlorine tablets next time then.
