太空員將在太空測試對接技術。

中國的神舟九號太空船將很快從酒泉衛星發射中心發射升空，這項任務應該會改寫中國太空計劃的歷史。如果一切按照計劃，這將是中國太空員第一次在太空待超過10天，也是首次有中國女太空員進入太空。這項任務還包括中國全體機員的首次載人對接任務。

Astronauts will test docking technologies while in space.

The Chinese Shenzhou IX spacecraft will soon lift off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and the mission should rewrite the history of the Chinese space program. If all goes to plan, this will be the first time that Chinese astronauts spend over 10 days in space and the first time a female Chinese astronaut has gone into space. The mission also includes the first manned docking mission by a Chinese crew.

This mission is extremely important for the local space program. China wants to build its own space station, and mastering docking technology will be a key part of those plans. Astronauts on board the Shenzhou IX craft will also be the first in Chinese history to step inside a module of a space laboratory.

The launch will not be straightforward as it will be the first time a spacecraft has taken off from Jiuquan in the summer. The site is located in the desert and temperatures even in the shade regularly go over 35 degrees. The high temperature of the summer poses a challenge for us to guarantee the stability of propellant, Cui Jijun, chief commander of the launch site system said.
